Fundamental Pet Shop Boys

Alright! A new Pet Shop Boys album is on the horizon. It looks like the release date in the UK is March 3rd, 2006, so my pre-order is in! Anyway, the new album is called Fundamental and some reviewers have been calling this their best album yet. Which is refreshing considering their last outing was largely disappointing and even the remix disc (Disco 3) was just so-so. I’m hoping this album is more in line with the bonus songs they did for the Pop-Art-Mix greatest hits collection (both Miracles and Flamboyant are awesome songs). Just a few weeks away.

Also, while on the subject of PSB, they are also doing a remix of Madonna’s Sorry. I’m going to end up getting both UK singles of this because the second disc has a Paper Faces Remix from none other the Stuart Price himself.

I stopped following PSB after "Bilingual," which really disappointed me.  Occasionally I thought about picking up a more recent CD, but was never motivated enough to do so.  Is the buzz about "Fundamental" indicating that it might be as good as "Alternative" and "Very"?

I know a lot of people had a hard time with Bilingual. Although, that means you missed one of my fav PSB albums Nightlife, which was nothing sort of fantastic. I even got to see PSB live at the State Theether during the Nightlife tour. The last album I recommend you skip, there are really only a couple of songs I liked from that album…the rest was blah. Although there were a couple of great B-sides. The next album has a LOT of positive buzz, which is why I just blindly placed my pre-order for it.
